Fourth of July Activities

The 4th of July is a time for both parents and kids to celebrate and enjoy themselves. Amid the summer heat, finding activities to stay busy and cool can be challenging. Making the entire day a celebration that includes the whole family can be a special event to look forward to all year long.

Start the day off by making a red, white, and blue breakfast. Pancakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream paired with a side of blueberries is the perfect patriotic way to kick off the celebration.

Next, head outside before the summer heat is in full force and play a round of whatever sport your family enjoys such as volleyball, kickball, or baseball. Be sure to include the whole family! After that, cool off with a family movie such as The Sandlot.

Next up, lunch! Everyone is sure to be hungry and there is nothing more perfect for the 4th of July than grilled hotdogs and hamburgers for lunch. Make a topping bar and let everyone load up their lunch to their liking.

The afternoon can be spent cooling off by a pool, throwing water balloons, or staying inside doing crafts and baking. Finally, the event everyone waits for all day long... sparklers and fireworks!

With the help of an adult, poke a hole in the bottom of a plastic cup. You will be able to slide a sparkler through. This helps keep little hands safe from the sparks and flames of the sparkler. We almost forgot the most important part...no fireworks show is complete without popcorn and ice cream! Most importantly, have a safe and happy 4th of July!
